Ciner 1980s Large Cerith Sea Shell Brooch

About the Item

A lovely and sculptural large brooch of the Cerith family sea shell by American fashion jewelry company Ciner. The shell is cast in a domed manner and richly gold plated. It measures 2 inches wide, 4.5 inches long and .88 of an inch high. The face of the brooch is a shiny smooth gold plate white the back has a textured finish. The back has a rectangular plaque inscribe Ciner with a copyright symbol. Very very fine condition. Founded in New York City in 1892, Ciner has the distinction of being the only company that converted from producing fine jewelry to costume exclusively. Today, Ciner is unique in that it is the only firm left from that legendary age that still does all of its work by hand at one site in the heart of New York City. Their jewelry is know for its exceptional quality and worn by celebrities around the world.
