A pair of yellow gold and diamond-set serpent earrings, each earring with two pear-shaped rose-cut diamonds in a navette-shaped frame of yellow gold in the form of two intertwined serpents, surmounted by a yellow gold forget-me-not flower, the diamonds weighing a combined total of 1.82 carats, mounted in gold with shepherd hook fittings, hallmarked, 18ct gold, London, 2016, measuring 4.5 x 1.5cm, gross weight 8.5 grams.

This contemporary pair of earrings by the goldsmith Gaetano Chiavetta incorporates several elements of Victorian symbolism, creating a lovely balance of historical and modern styles. The forget-me-not flowers, looped heart, and oval shaped double snakes are all Victorian symbols of everlasting love and fidelity. The central rose-cut diamonds add delicate sparkle and modern whimsy to these romantic and lovely earrings.
