The pierced decorated frame is ornamented with three oval cut blue sapphires set alternately between two very well color matched Old European cut diamonds.
The elevated, scroll and groove decorated ring shoulders integrate with the main setting and blend seamlessly with the plain ring shank.
This impressive five stone dress ring has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 18k gold.
The ring is supplied with two independent diamond grading certificates for the diamonds in addition to an independent diamond grading report card for the sapphires.

Neoclassical Enamel Memorial Ring with Painted Portrait of a Young Girl

This spectacular mourning band is of black enamel with accents of white enamel and bordered in gold accents. With its breathtaking miniature painting of a young girl, this ring is a fine example of the neoclassical influences of the Georgian period on mourning jewelry. The heavy graphic representations of death so prevalent before this time no longer suited the lightness of the Georgian era. The urns painted in gold over white enamel, the garland or wreath surround, are all examples of the neoclassical influence on mourning jewelry of the eighteenth and early nineteenth century. The inside of the band is a smooth, polished gold.
The ring is unusual with its round bezel with a miniature portrait of the deceased at the center instead of the more typically seen hair under crystal. This family went further to assuage their grief by commissioning a fine artist to paint their child, in essence transforming making this ring into a minor work of art.
Extra care should be taken and ideally the ring should not be exposed to excessive moisture.
Our ring is a size US 5.25 and is not resizeable.

The snakes are very detailed and have a lovely engraved design with a happy expression.
This is a substantial piece, exceptionally well made with a significant weight a lovely chunky piece.
The snake ring was catapulted into popularity when Queen Victoria received a snake ring from her beloved Albert, they were popular tokens of love and snakes in the Victorian era symbolised eternal love.
Snakes were of course used in jewellery much earlier than the Victorian era though with the ancient Egyptian's believing they had the power to cure and heal.
