Wychwood White, Butterfly Artwork, 3D Contemporary Perspex Art, Statement Art
By Michael Olsen
Located in Deddington, GB
Wychwood White by Michael Olsen [2022] original Handmade Fabric Butterflies in Perspex Box Image size: H:75 cm x W:75 cm Complete Size of Unframed Work: H:75 cm x W:75 cm x D:10cm Frame Size: H:75 cm x W:75 cm x D:10cm Sold Framed Please note that insitu images are purely an indication of how a piece may look Wychwood White is an original work by Michael Olsen. The bright and bold colours of the butterflies make this a joyful piece. Olsen’s use of perspex allows for work to fit sleekly into any interior. Michael Olsen says: My working life has lead me down numerous paths. Retailing medicines through my Pharmacy business in the early years to creating the 1st UK Pet superstore in 1990 and more recently operating a coffee shop, I’ve almost always enjoyed how I’ve earned my living. Having spent the greater part of my 74 years making things simply for pleasure or for practical purposes, more recently I’ve been able to allow my artistic impulses develop. What was a hobby has now become a full time and gratifying venture. I enjoy the simple, beautiful things that life has to offer – family, love, the outdoors (cycling through it), music (better heard through a needle) and time spent happily with others as well as alone – all of which inspire me to try to create things to enhance the enjoyment of life. I’ve always been fascinated by nature and in particular butterflies. To me, there is something captivating about that moment when a butterfly stops to allow an onlooker to admire its form. Using this as my stimulus I wanted to see if I could create something that was both contemporary and visually stimulating. An installation which could be displayed in homes, offices, restaurants as well as hotel rooms. I decided to create a flight of butterflies...

’Pisces’ Please note. This is not a mono print but 1st Dibs have option for Relief print. Which is what this is... By Yutaka Takayanagi. Medium - Relief print Edition - AP Signed - Yes Size - 510mm x 660mm Date - 1973 Condition - Excellent. 10 out of 10. Born in Tokyo in 1941, Takayanagi's artistic journey began when he enrolled at Tokyo University of the Arts in 1960, studying under the renowned oil painter Kaoru Yamaguchi. His talent was quickly recognized when he received an Honorable Mention at the 8th Shell Arts Award Exhibition in the same year. During his time at university, Takayanagi took an intensive course in copper plate printing under Tetsuro Komai, receiving his degree from the graduate school in 1966. Fascinated by the simultaneous color print method, he started creating copperplate prints and soon gained recognition for his unique metallic reliefs, which he produced using collages of English newspapers. Takayanagi's passion for experimentation led him to create metallic emboss reliefs using his own photographs, and in the latter half of the 1980s, he moved on to silkscreen prints. He continued to push the boundaries of his art, constantly exploring new techniques and mediums. In 1978 and the following year, Takayanagi was appointed as an arts researcher for the Ministry of Culture and traveled to the United States, France, and the UK. These experiences enriched his artistic perspective and further cemented his reputation as a highly regarded artist. Takayanagi was part of the influential printmaking group Sosaku Hanga, which emerged in the early 20th century in Japan. This movement emphasized the artist's involvement in every stage of the printmaking process, from designing the image to carving and printing the blocks. Takayanagi's work often incorporates elements of nature and landscape, with an emphasis on texture and pattern. He also experimented with collage, incorporating found materials like newspaper clippings and photographs into his prints. Takayanagi's work has been exhibited extensively in Japan and internationally, including at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the National Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo. He has also received numerous awards for his contributions to printmaking, including the Japan Print Association Award and the Purple Ribbon Medal...

Located in Marmora, NJ
CNC 28 (2022) DIMENSIONS: 12“ (h) x 9“ (w) MATERIALS: MDF Operating from his studio in the north-east of England, Fashion Design graduate Deane Hodgson’s eclectic body of work encompasses wall sculptures, analog collage and found poetry. In exploring the redeployment of materials, his multi-layered geometric wall sculptures primarily comprise the discarded wood off-cuts from CNC machines. The recycled ethos, meanwhile, continues through the use of disposed-of paint samples, old paste tables and plasterboard scraps. The unique relief compositions that emerge subtly experiment with both light and form, resulting in works rich with depth and pattern, while drawing comparisons to anything from the inner workings of industrial machinery...
