Farmhouses surrounded by an early autumn landscape. Brilliant yellow and orange nicely contrast the green grass. Unique top down viewpoint and angled composition. Painting abstracts as the scene recedes into the distance. Suren travels extensively, seeking out unique compositions in the neighborhoods, architecture and nature he encounters. For Suren, it is important for him to spend time in these places to witness daily life and take note of all of the individual elements.

About the Artist
Suren is an impressionist painter eloquently capturing nature, landscapes, and cityscapes in paint. His body of work reflects several different stylistic approaches. Suren’s scenes in oil are inspired by Impressionist masters Monet and Van Gogh, while his watercolor series of flowers and birds are influenced by Eastern styles of painting and the colors of the Middle Eastern environment. Suren believes his role as an artist is to remind viewers that we all are part of the same natural universe.

"This painting was created after a walk through the woods on a chilly winter morning," says Kira. "It was very still, silent and peaceful. It was interesting to see all of the branches bare without leaves, like wire sculptures."

About the Artist
Kira Yustak paints fantastical scenes that come from her childhood memories, dreams, and the natural world. Each piece feels like part of a larger narrative of an alternative reality, rendered in a style she describes as comic realism. She feels art must trigger something inside the viewer’s soul.Kira currently lives in New Jersey and finds inspiration in the work of Lowbrow, Folk, and Surrealist artists.

James created this painting in his studio from a plein air sketch he did on location in Berkeley. At the beginning of his career, James spent over a decade painting outdoors with his mentors. They revealed to him all of the spots in the area that were passed on to them through Louis Siegriest, the last surviving member of the famed Society of Six. This path along the marina is an example of one of these locations. James returned to this spot with his group of two or three other artists multiple times to capture the nuances.

About the Artist
There are more places Kent Sullivan would like to paint than he ever will be able. Employing many of the Hudson River School methods in his landscapes, Kent captures the ephemeral interactions of clouds, sun and earth with his delicate use of color and gesture.
