Monumental Important Art Deco Silver & Gilt Bronze Goddess G. Lavaroff
Located in New York City, NY
An exceptionally large and rare French Art Deco original bronze sculpture circa 1927 by a well known artist Georges Lavaroff (1895-1991) It's quite uncommon to find this very large size and notably featuring the silver and parcel gilt finish. The artwork features a majestic female nude, adorned with a stylized cloak in alternating stripes of gold and silver, which showcases a pyramid shape. The Egyptian goddess is depicted as an undraped figure with arms outstretched above her head, holding a crescent moon. She wears a north star headdress that adds to her regal appearance. The cloak is embellished with stars and a comet, and the female figure rests on a bed of stylized clouds. The sculpture is presented on its original black and gold marble base. All of these attributes add to the uniqueness and value of the artwork, making it even more remarkable and sought after by collectors and art enthusiasts. Water bottle shown for scale. Documentation : Les bronzes Art Deco de Georges Lavaroff, sculpteur Russe a Paris 1930 Kastelyn et Mazzucotelli. Georges Lavaroff was born in Sibera in 1895. He studied medicine and painting. After the revolution of 1917 he moved to Moscow and became a member of the Russian artists association where he began to exhibit his work and take part in shows as a member of the Association of artists of Revolutionary Russia. He then worked in France from 1927 until 1935. This period was the richest point of his profession where he produced his most famous works of Art Deco figures...

20th Century Italian Solid Silver Miniature Reproducing D'artagnan
Located in VALENZA, IT
Miniature in solid 800 silver reproducing D'Artagnan The miniature was made of solid silver with the fusion technique and subsequently finished with a chisel. The final finish was in natural, burnished silver and with 24kt gold details. Marble base By Geca Silversmith - MIlan - Italy for ARVAL ARGENTI VALENZA Silver statuette representing Charles de Batz-Castelmore, comte d'Artagnan. In 1630, aged about 20, he went to Paris to join the French Guards on the recommendation of a relative of his mother, the lord of Tréville, who also appears in Dumas' novels as his protector . It was at this time that the young Charles decided to adopt the surname d'Artagnan, that of his mother's family. The paternal branch in fact belonged to the bourgeoisie, and Charles preferred to use the surname that would have given him more prestige. Thus it was that the royal d'Artagnan did 15 years of military service until Cardinal Mazarin...

Hand-Sculpted & Gilded Ceramic Figural Fruit Bowl by Sean Gerstley
Located in New York, NY
This larger-than-life figural sculpture is functional ceramic serving-ware. Standing nearly 6' feet tall, with hand-sculpted vegetal, delicate leaf-like petals and pinched palm-like trunk, it is topped by a splendiferous fruit crown reminiscent of a pineapple or bunch of bananas. This friendly, human-scale piece offers to serve up three gilded platters of fine cheese, charcuterie, fresh fruit, canapés, or crudités, in a most charming and hospitable fashion. Additional Information: Commissioned for an installation at the Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood entitled 'Hall of Mirrors,' the work is a response to a prompt to materialize the overt display of social media. This piece was created along with two other fruit bowls, each unique. This is the last available fruit bowl of the original trio. Artist Information: Sean Gerstley (b. 1989) is a Philadelphia-based ceramicist. Working primarily with clay, Gerstley creates both sculptural and functional objects, pinching the surfaces of his coil-built forms finished off with colorful glazes. Expanding the role of ceramics from dinnerware or vessel to larger scale objects such as tables or floor lamps, Gerstley imagines interiors made entirely of his chosen medium. After graduating from the ceramics program at the Rhode Island School of Design in 2012, Gerstley showed work made in collaboration with Katie Stout at Salon 94 in New York and Nina Johnson...

Hébert learned extensively from their very divergent paths. Whereas Pierre Hébert...
