Magazine Rack by Mathieu Matégot

About the Item

This pure and elegant magazine stand was designed by Mathieu Matégot (1910-2001) in the 1950s and manufactured by Artimeta. The stand is made of soft yellow lacquered folded and perforated metal. The shape has a beautiful simplicity and consists of a play between lines and curves. These characterize Matégot’s way of working, the combination of metal tubes and perforated metal sheets, Rigitulle. Just like fabric, Rigitulle could be bent, folded and shaped, creating in his designs a play between transparency, weightlessness and eternal modernity. This sculptural magazine holder is old and original, with its original paint and a nice patina.
