This stunning desk is the same on each side. Each side is fitted with three frieze drawers, three further drawers in one pedestal and a cupboard to the other pedestal, all fitted with the original brass drop handles. The drawers are all oak lined and the pedestals are raised on plinth bases with brass castors underneath. Complete with original brass locks and keys. This gorgeous desk is freestanding and has been crafted from beautiful satinwood which has been masterfully inlaid with a marquetry of ribbons, swags and garlands. The rectangular top is beautifully framed with walnut cross-banding and features an inset gold tooled green leather writing surface above seven capacious drawers. The desk is raised on squared tapered legs that terminate in the original brass castors. It bears the stamp of the renowned cabinet makers Edward and Roberts in the centre drawer.
