Wasden was trained from a very young age in numerous artistic practices of the Kwakwa̱ka̱’wakw peoples including carving, jewelrymaking, and printing. As a high schooler, he began focusing primarily on preserving traditional singing after hearing his grandfather perform. Wasden currently teaches singing in Alert Bay on Cormorant Island, British Columbia. He also heads the Gwa'wina Dancer's Cultural Society, whose mission is to spread authentic Kwakwa̱ka̱’wakw culture & teachings.
In Kwakwaka'wakw art, human faces are placed strategically on animal carvings to indicate the creature's supernatural ability to transform into a human form. Kwakwaka'wakw origin myths say that their ancestors were originally animals of various kinds who discarded their animal forms and transformed into humans.

William Keith was a Scottish-American painter famous for his plein air California landscapes, characterized by how the landscapes captured feelings and emotions, rather than actual details. He was neither pure Realist nor pure Impressionist. During the 1870s, Keith painted a number of six-by ten-foot panoramas, including "Kings River Canyon" (Oakland Museum, originally owned by Governor Leland Stanford) and "California Alps" (Mission Inn, Riverside). These competed with paintings of similar size and subject matter by famous California landscape painters Albert Bierstadt and Thomas Hill. 50 Million Year Old Fossil Fish Mural from the Green River Formation, Wyoming

Four Eocene Era fossil fish from the Green River Formation are featured in this sculptural stone mural: a Cockerellites liops (formerly known as Priscacara) accented by three smaller Knightia eocaena. These fossil fish are about 50 million years old and are forever preserved in a textured matrix of natural, fossil-bearing limestone. This particular mural features a rare layer from our quarry known as Steel Blue Lake; the rich blue-gray color is a dramatic backdrop for the deep bronze color of the fossils.
The mural measures approximately 1.33 feet x 2 feet. It is fully backed with wood and it includes a handmade custom Wenge wood frame which compliments the fossil color beautifully. The mural has a built-in French cleat, which allows for an easy installation.
