Director of Marketing (Trade)

The Director of Trade Marketing will lead all product marketing and growth initiatives for our Trade Program, a top 1stdibs priority focused on acquiring, engaging and increasing share of wallet from interior design and architecture firms.

As a small group of businesses with large, ongoing spend potential in high-end furniture and decor, interior design firms are a natural priority. This role will report to the VP of Customer Marketing, and works in close collaboration with the trade GM and trade Sales, Product and analytics teams to develop, execute, measure and evolve new campaigns and customer experiences that will drive revenue growth from this important industry.

The interior design world is also at a digital crossroads, so there is an opportunity to partner with leading firms to develop solutions that benefit and potentially re-shape the industry as a whole.

 

What you’ll do

  • Take our existing high-growth Trade program to the next level with a further optimized customer communication program (e.g., e-mail, direct mail, telephone, on-site, digital ads) to drive/nurture leads and to build/maintain relationships with customers and prospects
  • Optimize planning and measurement strategies, including the definition of key performance metrics and scorecards to improve customer acquisition, feature engagement and brand awareness metrics
  • Identify, test and implement new ways to improve activation rates
  • Design and execute A/B testing to realize optimization opportunities spanning messaging, positioning and promotions
  • Drive and project-manage key marketing campaigns (Loyalty program, webinars, lifecycle messaging, etc.)
  • Use qualitative and quantitative research and campaign performance to draw out key insights that identify improvement areas for future campaigns
  • Stay on top of customer marketing and competitive trends and industry news and apply new innovations to our campaigns
  • Hire and manage a marketing associate to partner with you on growing the trade program
  • Collaborate with channel marketing leads (paid media, email, SEO, PR, events, etc.) to execute campaigns

 

What you'll bring

If you join us, you’ll come on board with significant experience leading scalable, data-driven marketing campaigns.  You have a strong track record of leadership, collaboration, strategic problem-solving, and independent thinking.

  • 8+ years of marketing experience (at least 3 years on the client side)
  • Innate understanding of acquisition and retention marketing operations, platforms, and technology
  • Expertise with direct response models; ROI analysis, calculation, and reporting
  • Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills - supporting an ability to synthesize and distill large amounts of data into action plans
  • Independent project management, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Must be detail-oriented, well organized, and able to lead cross-functional executions simultaneously
  • A “Driver” personality with a track record of success in a similar position
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • ecommerce and/or B2B experience is a plus
