Director of Marketing

Design Manager is the premier SaaS product for interior designers to help them manage projects, purchasing, and accounting. We pair software with industry-specific resources and services that help designers knowledgeably grow their firms. We primarily serve residential interior design firms in the US, from solo designers to full-service, internationally-recognized luxury firms. Thousands of designers, principals, finance teams, and purchasers rely on Design Manager every day.

As a key member of the management team, you’ll lead the planning, execution, testing, and optimization of marketing efforts to acquire new trials, close new customers, and grow customer knowledge. To be effective, you’ll need to bring a broad range of experience and skills in order to wear your high level planning hat one moment and get your hands dirty on execution the next. You’ll have the ability to hire a marketing specialist for your team immediately and grow the team over time.


What You’ll Do

  • Plan, prioritize, and execute marketing and communications initiatives that drive demand for Design Manager, grow trial starts, accelerate our sales cycle, and amplify our brand.

  • Put in place repeatable systems, tools, and processes that scale, optimize, and measure the effectiveness of our marketing to revenue cycle.

  • Partner with Sales, Customer Success, and Product to develop materials that clearly communicate the value of Design Manager to win over prospects and educate customers.

  • Balance proven strategies to drive predictable growth while leaving room for creative experimentation to discover new channels and tactics for further growth. 

  • Extend our content marketing engine by further improving our SEO, paid marketing, blog, and other content investments to continue to position us as a thought leader in interior design.

  • Stay informed by data at all times in order to derive actionable insights to optimize your budget and initiatives to maximize the return on our marketing investments.

  • Lead the planning and development of case studies, social media posts, blog posts, newsletters and similar materials, as well as improvement of online content, considering impact on SEO and GA.

  • Identify and pursue potential speaking opportunities (at live events, podcasts, webinars, etc.) and writing opportunities for the company’s leadership

  • Make recommendations on evolving products/packaging/pricing/promotions/positioning based on data and insights gleaned from research, market feedback/conversions, and data/analysis


What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 4+ years of multi-faceted marketing experience, including development of digital and content marketing strategies

  • Hands-on experience with B2B Social Media Marketing, Content Marketing, Email Marketing, SEO, SEM, and Market Automation

  • Experience with Google Analytics and Marketing Automation tools

  • Experience with developing customer personas

  • Must be a strong writer, able to convey complex ideas in a simple and engaging way that resonate with the target audience

  • Impeccable time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently, while also being intrinsically motivated to collaborate across teams, gather input from others, and seek appropriate input and guidance from company leaders
