Finance Analyst

We are seeking a full-time Finance Analyst to join the Strategic Finance team. Your work will help us understand growth opportunities and investment profiles, and offer timely, cost-efficient, and high-quality service and delivery for rare and desirable pieces.

You will report to the Sr. Finance Analyst and will provide insights that will help our Executive team make data-driven business decisions. This is a high-profile role as you will be working on analyses informing the strategic direction of the company. And on the operations front, 1stdibs sees its customer service experience and expanding logistics network as distinct competitive advantages. You will work with teams across the company including Accounting, Customer Service, Logistics, and Product Management.


What you’ll do

Business and Financial Analysis

  • Create and maintain operating and financial models used to forecast business growth and investment requirements
  • Provide insightful, data analysis to create effective solutions that align with company objectives
  • Support management by providing understanding of financial metrics and their drivers
  • Collaborate with business owners across the company to develop key performance indicators (KPIs)

Operations Process Improvement

  • Work with operations teams’ leads to understand processes and make recommendations for improvements that will increase service levels and productivity
  • Ensure our operations teams have the data they need to prioritize daily and weekly tasks
  • Work with Finance and Accounting to understand the financial impact of our operations teams, and to ensure we are making decisions that lead to increased scalability

Service Provider Analytics

  • Conduct detailed analytics about our third-party service providers’ performance and cost efficiency
  • Track the impact of new service and shipping programs and promotions on sales and service levels, as well as variances in actual and projected costs
  • Categorize inventory based on service and handling required and available shipping options


What you’ll bring

  • Minimum 1-3 years of work experience in an analytical role such as consulting, banking, strategy, or operations
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or business-focused major (operations, information management, accounting, or mathematics preferred)
  • Experience working with financial and operational metrics
  • Self-starter who takes ownership over his/her work
  • Ability to understand and break down a problem, then create an actionable, clearly-communicated solution
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain close working relationships across different departments
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple projects
  • Advanced knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Excel a must


Not required but a plus

  • Experience building sophisticated financial and operational models
  • E-commerce and online marketplace experience
  • Salesforce and Looker experience
