Manager, Marketing Promotions

As the largest luxury online marketplace, we are changing the way consumers shop for luxury items online. We are looking for a Manager of Marketing Promotions to join our marketing team to help drive the evolution of our capabilities and efficiently scale targeted promotions. This is a new position reporting directly to the VP, Customer Marketing. In this role, you will lead strategy, reporting and optimization of promotions, incentives and discounts. As the Senior Manager you will be responsible for creating offers that reach the right audience at the right point in their lifecycle, thoughtfully incentivizing sellers to offer compelling discounts and exploring larger scale loyalty and membership programs that grow sales for 

To be successful in this role you will be an analytical and creative marketer who enjoys working with a diverse range of teams to help drive successful campaigns forward. In this role there will be times where you’re leading promotions, and times where you’re creating the structure and informing others so they can develop effective campaigns that you can measure.  You will be someone who is happy working in an ambiguous environment and enjoy the challenge of working in a fast paced environment. With discounts on shipping, returns, referrals and frequently negotiated prices, there are a variety of levers to pull, with the interesting challenge of balancing growth, efficiency and staying true to our luxury brand.  


What You'll Do

  • Work with creative department to develop new offers and re-frame offers in new ways that improve response
  • Analyze past performance data and competitive offerings to concept and model new proposals for promotional offers
  • Partner with stakeholders from across the organization to develop a roadmap of promotional offers
    • Drive merchandising and integrated marketing teams on thematic and seasonal promotions (Art Deco sale, living room sale, watch sale, Black Friday Sale, etc) funded by our sellers
    • Work with shipping and seller teams to find creative ways to fund free shipping and returns offers that excite our customers 
    • Collaborate with lifecycle marketing and trade teams (interior designer professional buyers) on targeted activation, retention, referral and reactivation offers
  • Develop an understanding of longer-term impact on LTV of offering different types of promotions at different points in the customer lifecycle.
  • Partner with finance and our marketing analyst to ensure promotional discount expenses are  categorized and reported accurately on a monthly basis
  • Provide analytical support for forecasting of daily/weekly/monthly sales trends and guidance on risks to plans
  • Clearly and concisely communicate program performance and progress against goals in a cross-functional setting

What you’ll bring

  • 7+ years of experience with direct marketing and analytics. 
  • Promotions and loyalty experience preferred. 
  • Strong familiarity with marketplace business models and P&Ls to drive ROI positive solutions
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization from external vendors to senior leadership
  • Ability to transform detailed analysis into straightforward summaries for cross-functional partners
  • Strong excel skills required, SQL, BI Tools (Looker) preferred. 
  • Experience with modeling, A/B test development and statistical reporting. 
  • Demonstrated strong digital and e-commerce knowledge and curiosity
  • Interest in being a committed cross functional partner and a great team player, with a willingness to push back when necessary
  • Sense of humor a plus
