Marketplace Trust Manager

1stdibs is seeking a Marketplace Trust Manager to ensure the quality and integrity of the 1stdibs marketplace. This is a cross-disciplinary position that requires exceptional judgment, well-developed critical thinking and communication skills, and the ability to excel in ambiguous and quickly changing situations. This position is designed for an experienced professional with 5+ years’ work experience.

 

What you’ll do

  • Help drive strategy and design/implement process improvements with regard to customer disputes, dealer inquiries, and legal notices (e.g., copyright infringement claims)
  • Review and respond to complex dispute and claim escalations with customers, dealers, and creators in cooperation with our dealer and client-facing teams
  • Manage quality assurance, training practices, and grow our Marketplace Trust Team
  • Contribute to the development of policies and product features aimed at building marketplace trust for both buyers and dealers, directly impacting the success of 1stdibs
  • Ensure day-to-day Trust operations stay on track by managing team schedules, workload, and task assignment
  • Maintain team morale and influence career development

 

What you'll bring

  • 5+ years’ experience in a senior professional role
  • Experience and/or interest in dispute management, conflict resolution and investigation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Web savvy with strong analytical and research skills
  • Exceptional judgment and critical thinking skills
  • Can set work priorities in ambiguous and rapidly changing situations
  • Comfortable contributing to a collaborative team environment
  • Experience with luxury goods and e-commerce is a plus
  • BA/BS degree or Master’s degree
