Private Client Sales Specialist

As our business continues to rapidly grow, we are looking to add a remarkable salesperson to our elite Private Client Services (PCS) team, in the Furniture and Fine Art verticals. The role involves interfacing with valued, high-end and often high-needs clientele and also with the dealers who are selling the beautiful, unique pieces that these clients seek. The ideal candidate for this position​ is passionate about the luxury market (especially furniture and fine art), a quick-thinking problem-solver, and a patient and collaborative team member. This person must have superior verbal and written communication skills, and must love working with people to build and maintain relationships. It’s also crucial for the candidate to adapt and excel in quickly changing situations.

Our PCS team is a small, tight-knit and carefully selected unit which works side-by-side with several other key groups in the company in our bright, lively and brand new office space right by Union Square. What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with elite clientele and 1stdibs dealers
  • Actively seek out opportunities to assist private collectors in purchasing through 1stdibs
  • Provide guidance throughout the purchase process on negotiations, item information, and shipping
  • Track and maintain constant communication with the customer from the beginning to the end of any established case, issue, or concern
  • Collaborate on a daily basis with team management and colleagues from other groups in the org (Account Management, Sales, Logistics, Finance, etc.)
  • Proactively offer clients the best purchase and shipping options to meet their individual needs
  • Consistently work to source pieces for distinguished collectors while establishing relationships with 1stdibs dealers
  • Effectively and accurately utilize systems including the 1stdibs Order Management System & Salesforce CRM to accurately capture information on all clients

What you'll bring

  • BA/BS degree preferred
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in a fast paced luxury sales/retail or e-commerce environment; experience in art and antique sales preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience with dealers and luxury products
  • Superb attention to detail and organization
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding quotas
  • Ability to multitask and work well in a self-directed, fast-paced environment where priorities change quickly
  • Excellent writing, speaking, presentation and computer skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint; ability to articulate ideas clearly and appropriately based on the audience
  • Experience working in ecommerce companies a plus
