Product Marketing Manager

We are looking for a Product Marketing Manager to communicate high impact product enhancements and launches to our sellers. This person will work closely with Product Management and other departments to create marketing strategies and plans to ensure a successful launch and adoption of products and features for our dealers and galleries. This person will have a clear understanding of our market, what motivates 1stdibs sellers and buyers, and the value we provide to them.

This person will play a highly strategic (and operational) role shaping how we introduce users to different product features, function and messaging across all of our platforms based on where they are in their journey and what segment they fall into. This person will be expected to drive the definitions around how we segment users based on behavior, create different experiences and incentives to increase activation and retention and work with our product team to build a sticky, engaging experience. This person must be creative, extremely methodical and analytical.


What you’ll do

  • Define both ‘launch’ and ‘ongoing’ marketing objectives, including customer segmentation, product positioning, naming, value propositions , launch strategies and tactics for our contemporary sellers
  • Develop the strategy and collaboratively manage the marketing programs that drive demand for product features
  • Lead education initiatives to help sellers across categories  effectively use product features and be a success in our marketplace
  • Lead internal education initiatives ensuring seller feature awareness across the company
  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Design, Account Management and other key stakeholders to ensure the broader team is aligned toward strategic marketing vision
  • Inform all marketing efforts with a strong understanding of product, market, pricing and positioning opportunities
  • Execute an integrated marketing plan with other key Marketing functions including creative services, PR, social media and audience development to meet the growth objectives associated with on-going product initiatives
  • Create and deliver compelling marketing communications to attract prospects, retain customers and strengthen partnerships


What you'll bring

  • 3-5 years of experience in product marketing, product management or brand marketing in e-commerce/online marketplace or a start-up environment preferable
  • Bachelor's degree, MBA with a marketing focus preferred
  • Excellent communication skills – both spoken and written
  • High energy, charismatic, innovative, creative
  • Ability to successfully drive projects with minimal guidance
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and to motivate others to champion initiatives on your behalf
  • Demonstrated understanding of success across wide spectrum of marketing activities (advertising, public relations, digital marketing, etc.) and of driving campaigns for a product launch
  • Outstanding follow-through, time management, and project management skills to deliver results
  • Proven track record in performing well in a fast pace environment and organizational skills to effectively manage multiple projects
  • Experience in B2B, luxury goods or contemporary design marketing a plus
