Strategic Account Executive

Our Trade Team is growing and we are looking to bring on an exceptional Strategic Account Executive. Our Trade team work with the world’s most exciting design firms and our Strategic Account Executives work with our top priority design firms across the country.

You will be responsible for growing the annual spend of these clients by building relationships with key stakeholders including Principal designers, junior designers, design directors, creative leads, and various members of purchasing and procurement teams with the goal of identifying Strategic level firms and facilitating increased spend through the 1stdibs Trade platform. You will be responsible for working with a book of business to identify spend potential, while educating clients on new product features and Trade Program benefits

The role is perfect for someone with 6+ years of direct sales experience. You will be a self-starter who can jump in without being asked,  who is adaptable to change and comfortable in a startup environment – ready to roll up their sleeves, jump in the trenches, and wear multiple hats when necessary. What you’ll do

  • Own and work towards a quarterly quota of spend for your assigned accounts
  • Identify accounts that belong in a Strategic book of business. Identify accounts that are in sourcing and purchasing phases of their project life cycles and implement strategies to increase account spend
  • Work closely with our sourcing and services team to make sure any issues are surfaced and addressed in a quick manner
  • Conduct regular web demos to educate account members on how to utilize features and tools on the site
  • Begin to uncover and document the org maps for design firms — goal is to identify power users, decision makers, and key influencers
  • Capture and maintain a prospect’s interest in transacting with 1stdibs by clearly communicating the benefits associated with being member of our new Trade program
  • Capture and maintain customer loyalty by clearly understanding how 1stdibs adds value to their firm

* The role requires significant travel for client meetings as well as industry and partner events*

 

What you'll bring

  • 6+ years of experience in a sales role at a SaaS or technology start-up
  • Experience managing a book of roughly 100 accounts and helping identify scale down that account list to about 50 accounts
  • Experience presenting to Director/VP/Principal contacts within industry leading organizations
  • Excellent time management skills + ability to manage competing priorities
  • Ability to map decision-making processes within a complex organization
  • Timely and thoughtful follow-up to creating trust and strong relationships with your accounts
  • Ability to identify and overcome objections throughout the full sales cycle
  • Works well in a team based environment
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
