About the Item
Wilhelm Kage, "Farsta" Yellow mat glazed footed bowl with line design, The Gustavsberg Manufactory, Sweden 1958 Impressed "Farsta" Five times to feet, "Gustavsberg G (hand) Studio" Incised "i10", "KÅGE
This is a simple piece has a bowl-like body with five high legs by Wilhelm Kåge, a master potter at the Gustavsberg Porcelain manufactory in Sweden.
The base is coated with a red brown glaze, and the vertical direction has been regularly scratched off, with a line pattern painted in white glaze, and finally covered with an ochre matte glaze. The glaze dripped like glass around the high legs, which is a highlight. Although this is a late work, it is extremely carefully crafted, and its beauty is subdued and graceful.
The vessel has been examined by an expert by UV light and visual inspection to ensure that there are no repairs and that it is not twice kiln fired.
