New Modern Cigarettes and Cigar Ashtray in Black Marble, creator Chiossi Stock
By Michele Chiossi
Located in Milan, IT
Tuscan sculptor Michele Chiossi, has found in marble a medium to describe modernity with its myths and symbols, creating the Contemporary collection. An emoji can be a tray; an emoji heart, not necessarily pierced by an arrow, can be a place of creativity in the kitchen, a chopping board or a working surface; a dash; a zigzag; granting the marble a moment of levity, becoming vertical in a vase; reflecting an ideal image of ourselves. Unique objects to be experienced as a couple, to gift to friends, jewels of our daily lives. Time and smoke pass, ashtrays remain. As everlasting as marble, as elegant as a concentric circle of smoke spreading through the air. Chiossi revisits the most Classic of living room...

Piero Fornasetti Series 8 Coasters Commissioned by Banca Unione Milan
By Piero Fornasetti
Located in Prato, Tuscany
We kindly suggest you read the whole description, because with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects. Complete set of eight porcelain coasters produced in 1970 by Piero Fornasetti; they were expressly commissioned by the Banca Unione of Milan; the graphics with the decoration "Le Monete" represents eight variations on the theme of coins made in black and pure gold with the third firing; the term "third firing" means, in ceramics, the third firing that is applied to an object to add decorations, especially those in pure gold, a technique that requires great skill and precision; the saucers represent in numerical order 1)Boat, 2)Home, 3)idea, 4)Everything, 5)Holidays, 6)Christmas, 7)Student, 8)Car; they are contained in a golden cardboard case. These are Fine collectibles in excellent condition; the saucers were created in 1970 to be given as gifts by Banca Unione of Milan to its customers; they were made by Piero Fornasetti (1931-1988) a versatile and eclectic founder of the design and decorative arts atelier that bears his name. The Banca Unione was established in 1919 by Carlo Feltrinelli, father of Giangiacomo, a publisher very close to the left; among the minority shareholders were Bastogi (the largest Italian financial); since 1968 the bank became the property of the financier and fixer Michele Sindona (1920-1986) who secured the absolute majority along with the Vatican; the Bank dedicated itself to the Italian market by launching an unprecedented commercial policy, in an attempt to reconcile the interests of the institution with socially advanced actions. According to Sindona, in Italy, banks were only interested in the wealthy, snubbing the categories of workers with modest incomes. Sindona overturned this logic and, ahead of his time, sent Banca Unione promoters into the factories. Sindona was a member of the P2 lodge (card no. 0501) and had clear associations with Cosa Nostra and the Gambino family in the United States. Involved in the Calvi affair, he was behind the murder of Giorgio Ambrosoli. He died poisoned...

Antique Sterling Silver Tureen by Marc Jacquard Retailed by Bulgari 19th Century
Located in London, GB
This is a magnificent antique French sterling silver soup tureen and lid, retailed by Bulgari Rome with hallmarks for the maker Marc Jacquard and circa 1810 in date. This round Silver Serving Tureen has Rococo elements perfectly accenting the elegant body, with bold scroll handles decorated with foliate and floral ornamentation and stands on a pedestal foot with an encircled border. It features an exceptional cast floral and fruit bouquet finial on the lid. The tureen is beautiful in its simplicity and comes with its own vintage luxury case labelled Bulgari. Condition: In excellent condition with clear hallmarks and no dings, dents or signs of repair. Please see photos for confirmation. Dimensions in cm: Height 28 x width 37 x depth 29 Weight 76 troy oz Dimensions in inches: Height 11.0 x width 14.6 x depth 11.4 Weight 2.36 kg Bulgari The founder of the Bulgari brand is Sotirios Voulgaris who was born in March 1857 and came from the Epirus Village of Paramythia, the largest Aromanian center of silversmithing in the Balkans. He was one of eleven children of his father Georgios Voulgaris (1823–1889) and his Aromanian mother Eleni Stronggaris. In 1881, Sotirios Bulgari moved to Rome and, in 1884, opened his first store on via Sistina 85. In 1888, he married Aromanian Eleni Basio with whom he had six children: Constantine-Georgios (1889–1973), Leonidas-Georgios (1890–1966), Maria-Athena (1891–1976), Sofia (1893–1908), Alexandra (1895–1984) and Spyridon (1897–1932); Leonidas-Georgios is the father of the current chairman of the company, Paolo Bulgari.[9] In 1905, he unveiled the Via Condotti shop that would become the company's flagship.[10] In its early years, Bulgari was known for silver pieces that borrowed elements from Byzantine and Islamic art, combining them with floral motifs. At the time, Paris was the apex of fashion and creativity, and its trends influenced Sotirio's designs for decades: jewels of the early 20s were characterised by platinum Art Deco settings while those of the 30s featured geometric diamond motifs—sometimes set in combination with coloured gemstones. Convertible jewels...

Georg Jensen Sterling Silver Tazza Compote 263B, Grape Motif
By Georg Jensen
Located in Cincinnati, OH
Vintage Georg Jensen sterling silver tazza compote with grape motif. This fabulous Georg Jensen sterling silver tazza features Jensen's iconic grape motif, a celebrated range of pieces which were inspired by the Art Nouveau aesthetic coupled with time the artist spent traveling in Italy. Georg Jensen was born in 1866 and trained as a sculptor at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, graduating in 1892. Jensen began his artistic career in ceramics and started working with silver in 1904. He went on to establish his own smithy in Copenhagen and like many others working during the Art Nouveau period, was strongly influenced by natural forms and structure found in flowers and plants. As mentioned above, Jensen spent time in Italy shortly after the turn of the century and developed an appreciation for ancient Roman silver work. He was also struck by the work of more recent Italian artists and was particularly influenced by those pieces which drew upon classical mythology, such as Baroque painter Caravaggio's 'Bacchus'. Jensen combined these influences with emerging Art Nouveau organic motifs, leading him to utilize the malleable qualities of silver to create his renowned Grape Collection. This form of this silver tazza was initially designed by Jensen in 1918. The piece has a round pedestal foot which rises to a thick columnar stem reminiscent of the twisting trunk...
