About the artist:
Sandu Liberman (1923–1977) was a Romanian-born Israeli artist celebrated for his expressive portraiture and sensitive figurative works. Born in Iași, Romania, he gained early recognition between 1946 and 1953 through numerous state exhibitions in Bucharest, and in 1952 he was awarded the gold medal at the International Art Festival in Romania. That same year, he was commissioned to illustrate a Romanian national encyclopedia and was appointed the Official Portrait Artist of Romania. In 1962, Liberman emigrated to Israel, where he continued his career and received several government commissions, including a 1965 portrait of the President of Guinea, which still hangs in the Royal Palace. Working primarily in oil on canvas and lithography, his subjects ranged from rabbis and intimate family studies to dancers, nudes, and evocative depictions of women and city life. Known for his mastery of line, tonal subtlety, and emotional depth, Liberman merged realism with lyrical sensitivity, creating works that reflect both personal intimacy and cultural heritage. He remained an influential figure in mid-20th-century Israeli art until his death in 1977.

Sandu Liberman
Sandu Liberman est né à Yasi, en Roumanie, en 1923. Entre 1946 et 1953, il a participé à onze expositions nationales à Bucarest. En 1952, il a reçu la médaille d'or au Festival international d'art de Roumanie. La même année, il a été chargé d'illustrer la grande encyclopédie Romania, et a été nommé Artiste officiel de la Roumanie. Il s'est rendu en Israël en 1962 et s'y est installé. Liberman a été chargé par le gouvernement israélien de réaliser des portraits à de nombreuses occasions. En 1965, le gouvernement israélien lui a commandé un portrait du président de la Guinée, qui est accroché au palais royal. Liberman est décédé en 1977

Stefania Guid i (Rome, 1929) appartient à la famille des Marquis Guidi Giovanissima. En 1958, elle présente sa première exposition personnelle de sculptures et de dessins à la galerie Giosi, Via del Babbuino, à Rome. Elle a épousé le musicien et compositeur Michele Paradiso le 1er juillet 1978 à Campidoglio. De 1956 à 2014, l'œuvre de Stefania Guidi s'est exprimée dans différentes techniques et matériaux avec un grand savoir-faire.
Elle a réalisé 192 gravures sur cuivre et zinc ; 40 lithographies sur pierre et zinc ; 154 bas-reliefs en albâtre et plâtre de bronze ; 102 dessins et détrempes ; 235 petits bronzes ; 40 grands plâtres...
