Robert Calafiore - Photographie
Américain, b. 1965
Robert Calafiore est né à New Britain, dans le Connecticut, d'une famille d'immigrés italiens. Élevé dans un foyer catholique traditionnel et au sein d'une grande famille élargie, les influences religieuses et les liens étroits avec les traditions et l'éthique du travail ont contribué à façonner son rapport au monde. Calafiore a obtenu son MFA en photographie à l'Université d'État de New York à Buffalo et son BFA en photographie à l'École d'art de Hartford. Il a récemment reçu la bourse Connecticut Artist Fellowship Grant pour 2018 et a également été nommé artiste conférencier du prix Second Sight pour le Medium Festival of Photography en octobre 2018. Robert Calafiore utilise des appareils photo à sténopé qu'il a lui-même construits pour créer de grands tirages chromogéniques (C.C.) uniques en leur genre, qui illustrent son expérimentation des couleurs vives, de la lumière et de l'ombre par des moyens purement analogiques. Son travail a été publié dans Photograph Magazine, Diffusion Annual IX, Lenscratch et Collector Daily. M. Calafiore est actuellement doyen adjoint et professeur de photographie à l'université de Hartford.
