Tomi Ungerer Art
Français, 1931-2019
Tomi Ungerer est un artiste incroyablement prolifique qui a publié plus de 140 livres de dessins allant de livres pour enfants emblématiques à des œuvres controversées pour adultes. Il est célèbre pour sa satire sociale acerbe et ses aphorismes pleins d'esprit, et son œuvre va du fantastique à l'autobiographie. Il est également illustrateur, sculpteur, inventeur, concepteur d'architecture et a beaucoup travaillé dans le domaine de la publicité.
En 2007, le musée Tomi Ungerer a ouvert ses portes à Strasbourg, faisant de lui le premier artiste vivant à avoir un musée dédié à sa vie et à son œuvre en France. Depuis, le musée Tomi Ungerer a été élu comme l'un des 10 meilleurs musées d'Europe par le Councill.
Ungerer a reçu de nombreuses récompenses prestigieuses, notamment un Lifetime Achievement Award de la Society of Illustrators en 2011, le Prix européen de la culture en 1999, le Prix national des arts graphiques en France en 1995 et le Prix Jacob Burckhardt, décerné par la Fondation Goethe, en 1983.à
