Advent of Time a été fondé par Sigmund Shonholtz. Il est un horloger et bijoutier de troisième génération dont le grand-père a créé une entreprise d'horlogerie et de bijouterie à Los Angeles, en Californie, en 1918. Le magasin d'origine était situé près d'Hollywood et s'adressait à l'industrie cinématographique. M. Shonholtz connaît bien le secteur de l'horlogerie et de la bijouterie, à la fois en tant qu'artisan et en tant que commerçant.
