About Thornley-Hall and Young Studio
Thornley-Hall and Young Studio is led by two seasoned designers, Kate Thornley-Hall and Jennifer Young, each with distinct yet complementary approaches. Together, they bring decades of design experience gained from working in London, New York, and Toronto.
Both Jennifer and Kate began their design careers at Ralph Lauren in Creative Services, one in New York and the other in London. Kate went on to build a thriving design business. Jen went on to a successful career in brand strategy and experience design. Reunited, they bring together their individual strengths to all their design projects.
With over 20 years of experience as a London-trained interior designer, Kate effortlessly infuses simple luxury into everyday family living. Her signature style seamlessly blends vintage and contemporary elements, most notably showcased in her line of custom contemporary rugs. These rugs are designed in Canada and handwoven in family-run workshops in Nepal and India, reflecting her deep appreciation for textiles, both antique and contemporary.
Jen's design philosophy centers on her profound belief in the transformative potential of physical space. Jen's work is deeply shaped by her insatiable curiosity for art, culture, and travel. This influence is evident in her designs, which radiate soul, modern sensibility, and welcome warmth. Jen firmly believes that a beautiful space should evoke emotions and her designs feature an eclectic mix of furniture styles, colors, fabrics, and textures, infusing authenticity into each project to reflect the distinctive tastes and individuality of each client.
