Living up to its name as one of the elegant and sophisticated "De Ville" models, it has a pleasing case and timeless silver dial. Its monococque - or one-piece - Omega case, which won new achieved high water resistance ratings by not having a separate case back measures 34mm in diameter - the same size as a Rolex Date model. Powering the watch is Omega's top-tier caliber 565 movement used in Seamasters from the era, the last superior 500's series movements used before Omega began trying to reduce their costs. With 24 jewels and a quick-setting date, it was the top-tier offering of the famous 500 series and is one of the finest mass-produced automatic movements from the era. It has all of its original parts and presents in gorgeous original condition - a 9.7 out of 10. Its case presents as mint with only light signs of previous polishing. Despite what the photos seem to suggest, all of the detail on the back is fully intact. Its untouched original dial is also mint with hardly any aging visible under magnification. As part of the restoration, the movement has just been overhauled by a Master Watchmaker. It continues to run very strong and true, keeping time nearly on par with a new Omega in our testing recording position. Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a full-page custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate. La légende de Omega veut que la Speedmaster Professional Chronograph de la marque ait été la première montre à effectuer un alunissage. Mais l'amour universel pour montres Omega vintage ne se limite pas aux astronomes, et l'héritage de l'entreprise ne se limite pas à l'histoire de la Moonwatch.

Les origines de la maison remontent à 1848, date à laquelle l'horloger suisse Louis Brandt s'est installé pour la première fois. Ses fils Louis-Paul et César ont pris la relève après sa mort et, en 1894, ils ont créé un nouveau mouvement fascinant.
