Designed by Ugo La Pietra in 1986, the Flabello sofa breaks away from the conventional linear form of traditional seating. With its innovative shape and modular composition, Flabello stands out as the centerpiece of the room, conceived to create dynamic and highly original living areas.
The sofa consists of three upholstered elements—two end modules and a central unit—each equipped with a concealed side table that can be pulled out when needed. This clever feature allows the modules to be arranged in a semicircular configuration, fostering a more convivial and unconventional layout.
The base, crafted with refined detail in a polished copper finish, elegantly supports the seating structure, adding a touch of sophisticated refinement and emphasizing the piece’s intrinsic value.
Flabello retains its original upholstery, also designed by Ugo La Pietra, which further enhances its historical and collectible significance. The piece comes with a certificate of authenticity issued by Gruppo Industriale Busnelli.

Ugo La Pietra
Ugo La Pietra est un architecte, designer et artiste italien qui se définit lui-même comme un "chercheur d'art visuel". Son activité de chercheur a débuté dans les années 60, lorsqu'il a fondé "Il gruppo del Cenobio" (le groupe du Cénobio) avec Agostino Ferrari, Ettore Sordini, Angelo Verga et Arturo Vermi. Ce fut une expérience brève, mais intense, et ils représentaient le seul groupe de Milan à avoir développé le mouvement dit "signic", en contraste avec les autres groupes avant-gardistes spécialisés dans le pop art, les objets, la cinétique. La Pietra a fait l'expérience de la synesthésie entre les arts. La Pietra a participé à plus de 900 expositions personnelles et collectives et a exposé ses œuvres dans les plus importants musées italiens et étrangers.
