Iconic and instantly recognizable ‘Orix’ desk set designed by Vittorio Parigi and nani Prina for Molteni & Co in 1971.
Seen here in its most beautiful colourway (according to us), a lovely mustard yellow.
The desk allows for truly intuitive and engaging use, from storing items underneath its opening glass top or grabbing a book from the oscillating bookcase on the right-hand side.
The desk is composed of a single piece of moulded ABS plastic (the only ABS piece Molteni manufactured in the 70s) which rests on a chromed tubular steel base. The glass top opens and shuts safely with a small dent which allows the users’ hand to fold it down smoothly.
Produced by Molteni in the 1970s in Italy.
Price refers to the set which includes the desk and chair.
Glass top folding mechanism functions flawlessly.
In very good vintage condition with smaller expected signs of age, as indicated in the photos. Small scratches are present on the plastic and glass as expected. The chair is slightly more visibly worn than the desk although both maintain a good impression in person.
A sticker was present on the right hand side of the table which was safely peeled off however the area underneath it remains in a lighter shade than the rest of the desk. The chair is also of a slightly more vibrant color as it was possibly less used by a previous owner and less exposed to sunlight.
There are two holes underneath the seat on the chair which do not jeopardize its stability.
Depending on the destination, the table may be disassembled for shipping to ensure a safe arrival.

The standard shipping option includes direct air freight shipping with curbside delivery (2-4 weeks). Tracking and full insurance is included. Local delivery scheduling and import clearance is arranged with the designated import agent prior to dispatch. Additional services such as in-house delivery can be arranged at an additional cost. Import duties and taxes are not included on checkout. Taxes may be collected on checkout or collected by your local customs authorities upon import of the item.
EU SHIPPING
Road freight shipping with curbside delivery automatically calculated on checkout.
Direct delivery and alternative options are often available. Please contact us for additional information.
There are no additional costs or import duties for EU customers.

PACKAGING
All of our items are thoroughly cleaned and carefully packed for shipping.
It is very important for us that the packaging has the same high-quality standard as the purchased item. Depending on the size and fragility of the item, packaging can be made in a heavy duty industrial cardboard box or a custom wooden crate packaging.
Freight items are packed on pallets.
We create custom packages to save unnecessary packaging waste and filling.
We use recyclable materials only.

SHIPPING
Over 90% of our items are shipped to destinations in North America and Asia.
We offer premium worldwide shipping with tracking and insurance included in all shipping options.
All shipping costs are automatically calculated during the checkout process, once the quantity and destination has been selected. Due to custom packaging, shipping for combined orders is not always automatically calculated correctly. Please contact us for shipping quotes for combined orders, or proceed to order the items after which we will issue a partial refund if the shipping was overpaid.
100% insurance included in the shipping price.
All of our packages are insured or guaranteed for by us, provided that any proof of damage is delivered to us within 3 days of delivery. Any visible damages on the package must be photographed upon delivery or the insurance policy might not be valid.
POSTAL SHIPPING / EMS SHIPPING
Most of our items (chairs, armchairs, sofa modules, lamps, coffee tables etc.) are packed in packages up to 31,5kg / 70x70x100cm or equivalent and shipped as premium international air packages or EMS packages through the international state shipping carriers.
The packages are delivered locally by the domestic postal carrier of the recipient’s country.
Approximate delivery times for postal packages (based on year 2023.)
- USA / Canada = 7-15 business days after dispatch
- Asia / Middle East = 10-18 business days after dispatch
- EU/EEA = 5-10 business days after dispatch
If the order has not been delivered within 60 days from the dispatch date, a full refund for the shipping is issued.
If the order has not been delivered within 90 days from the dispatch date, a full refund for the order is issued.
Based on the years 2021.-2023., only one package per 650 packages is lost in transit (0,0015%).
FREIGHT SHIPPING
All oversized items that cannot be shipped or disassembled to ship in parts up to 31,5kg / 70x70x100cm or equivalent (sofas, seating sets, bigger sofa modules, beds, closets and larger storage cabinets etc.) air shipped via air freight shipping (overseas) or road freight shipping (EU/EEA).
All freight shipping options include curbside delivery with package unloading.
Additional services such as In-house/white glove delivery or disposal of the shipping materials can sometimes be arranged on demand and at an additional charge.
Approximate delivery times for freight packages (based on year 2023.)
- Air freight shipping: 3-5 business days, delivery is scheduled with the import agent
- Road freight shipping (EU/EEA) – 2-8 business days, delivery day is announced prior to delivery.
DHL SHIPPING UPGRADE
Priority shipping via DHL can be found on checkout or quoted on request.
Estimated transit time for DHL shipping is 1-5 days for all destinations worldwide.
SEA FREIGHT/CONTAINER SHIPPING
For large orders of 50+ items, sea freight or container shipping can be offered in arrangement with the buyer.
