Hudson Whaler Hotel

When working on this boutique hotel, I had always imagined the building we were working on had once belonged to a sea captain long ago and planned on evoking that feeling, while working with and enhancing the historical details found throughout. The lobby became 'Living Room Clubby', featuring a mural by Artgroove depicting the Hudson River on an imaginary trio to New York City, two large vintage crystal chandeliers sourced in Hudson and of course that original staircase, where we decided on a kicky Stark carpet runner. Up the stairs (or the elevator) through inky corridors one reaches the guest rooms, maritime details and a mid century meets 2023 vibe, each featuring a fireplace and large windows. The Hudson Whaler is located in a prime spot right on Warren Street and close to all the antiquing, shopping and dining your heart could possibly desire - a perfect weekend getaway.
