Pair of Vintage Mocho Stools by Sergio Rodrigues, Brazilian Mid-Century, 1954
By Sergio Rodrigues
Located in New York, NY
The Mocho stool is one of the most iconic pieces designed by Sergio Rodrigues in 1954, before founding the Oca store. This pair is made of gorgeous solid Rosewood in very good vintage condition. As a free interpretation of a typical rural artifact, the cow-milking stool, the Mocho stool synthesizes both functions' simplicity: a piece that could be used as a seat and also support. The inspiration came from the circle, triangle, and trapezoid geometric forms and translated informality through its design resources. Mocho is a low piece on which the user has to crouch to sit, aided by a handle that allows it to be moved anywhere. Rodrigues sought a skilled lathe-operating carpenter and showed him the stool design. Right there, they produced the very first piece. It has been a success since then, arousing great interest from the public and other furniture manufacturers. In addition to being a mark in Sergio Rodrigues' history as a designer, the Mocho stool was the starting point of other furniture pieces, especially the Mole armchair and two other remarkable creations, the Arimello coffee table and the Cantù dining chair...

About Costantini Design Costantini is a furniture design and manufacturing company founded in 2002 by artist and designer William C Stuart. The name Costantini comes from his maternal grandfather, a first generation Italian-American. Born in New York City and raised upstate, William majored in studio art at Colgate University with a year abroad in Paris, graduating with honors. In 2001, he traveled to Buenos Aires and fell in love with the culture and craftsmanship instantly. He designed his first collection soon after and opened an art and design gallery in Los Angeles. A decade later, he came home to New York and now has a studio in the famed West Chelsea Arts Building where his works blur the lines between art and functional design. The team of artisans continue to produce the majority of the furniture in Argentina. Aside from private collections, some notable public projects include the Hotel Bel Air...

Green Del Cielo Y La Tierra Vase by Alberto Vitelio
Located in Geneve, CH
Green Del Cielo Y La TIerra by Alberto Vitelio. Material: Fiberglass, resin, polyurethane paint. Dimensions: H 116 x D 70 x W 70 cm. This piece has now been modified to a glossy black color and can be subjected to color changes suggested by the customer, as it is a smooth piece without texture. Alberto Vitelio was born in Santiago de Chile in 1990, in a newly installed democracy after 17 years of military-civic dictatorship. The cultural blackout, persecution, and censorship of this period endowed the artistic scene with a profoundly dissident and anti-establishment voice. From 1990 onwards, art in Chile remained on the margins, while the territory became the laboratory for Milton Friedman...

'Lin' Minimalist Stool in Brazilian Hardwood by Knót Artesanal
By Knót Artesanal
Located in Paraty, Rio de Janeiro
Lin is derived from a clean and minimalist take on a traditional three-legged stool, giving it a thoroughly modern appeal and Scandinavian feel through its brass details and slender appearance. The brass line on the seat marks the join in the wood and as such is different on each making them all unique. Light yet robust it’s a perfect combination of structure and aesthetic. Made from a range of Brazilian solid hard woods with a natural finish of oil and wax. Knót Artesanal...
