Hermann Kremsmayer, born in Salzburg in 1954, lives and works in Vienna.
This work, entitled ‘Blue composition’ by Hermann Kremsmayer, shows a play between colours. Bright colours such as the blue that stands out clearly against the greyish background and at the same time plays with the other colours such as the green, brown and the white colour accents. The artist is aware of the complexity of painting; he examines the effects of colour, pigments, sand and binding agents in a permanent, carefully reflected working process. His presence and ambivalence in the field of tension of abstract metaphors, structuring and occasional figurative schemes is the conclusive result of continuously reflected work with the aim of better understanding the inner world and existential questions through the analogies of images.
The work is painted with gouache on paper and has been signed at the bottom right and a dedication by the artist can be found at the bottom left.
