About the Item

Clean minimalist incised drawing from artist Sophie Dixon Dillo, whose large-scale installations using light to illuminate sheer walls of thread and filament, have been installed Internationally, from Madison Avenue in New York, to Paris, France. Her path has lead away from traditional painting and toward a dialogue between painting, sculpture, and light. With these quiet incised drawings on heavy black paper, the artist continues to focus on light with pearlescent ink and repetitive patterns. The works require a viewer’s presence in order to witness the ever-shifting effects of light and movement on the pieces, that change with the time of day and with the seasons. Dixon Dillo has exhibited throughout the U.S., and internationally. She has participated in exhibits such as the Fort Collins Museum of Contemporary Art, the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, and Calvin Klein on Madison Avenue in New York. Her recent solo exhibit, Emergence, was chosen as a “Pick of the Week” by ArtWeek.LA. She has recently been recognized as a notable abstract artist with an invitation to participate in Colorado Women in Abstraction at the Center for Visual Arts in Denver, CO. This artwork is 14 x 14 inches and comes professionally framed measuring 18 x 18 inches. Proudly presented by Andra Norris Gallery in Burligame, CA.
