In her realist gouache on paper animal miniature, "Green Bird," 2018, Dina Brodsky captures and highlights the full chromatic range of the bird's plumage. The fine detail of the bird's feathers lends itself to the Brodsky's subtle gradation between shades of green--stretching from yellow undertones, to a cool, brilliant blue. The bird pertly waits, itself enraptured by an external presence.
Dina Brodsky is a contemporary realist miniaturist, painter and curator. She was educated at University of Massachussets Amhers,t and the New York Academy of Art, where she received her MFA. She lives and works in New York City. She has taught privately, and in several institutions including the Castle Hill Center for the Arts, the Long Island Academy of Fine Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
