Boy with Mask is a Modern Artwork realized by Antonio Visentini (Venice, 1688 - Venice, 1782) in the first half of the XVIII Century.
Original watercolor on watermarked ivory paper.
The signature is present on the upper right corner. On the lower margin the original title is present.
Mint conditions.
Excellent work depicting the portrait of a boy with a typical Venetian headdress. The work is realized with fresh strokes of watercolor on paper that define the whole portrait. The strokes are very smart and elegant.
The work was attributed to Antonio Visentini (Venice, 1688 - Venice, 1782). He was an Italian painter, architect and engraver. He was best known for his illustrations and engravings, including the cartoons for Francesco Guicciardini's Della Istoria d'Italia, Visentini taught architecture at the Venice Academy for several years. He is also remembered for a series of reproductions of scenarios taken from Canaletto's paintings, depicting various Venetian views. He designed the Venetian home of the English consul Joseph Smith. In 1726, he published Iconography of the Ducal Basilica of the Evangelist Mark, exhibiting the results of a study on the basilica of San Marco.

Le Petit Maitre (The Small Master) is an engraving made by the Parisian artist Louis-Marin Bonnet and realized in the second half of 1700 in Paris.
Inside the matrix, the title is engraved on the lower center, whilst “A Paris, chez Bonnet rue St. Jacques” appears on the lower right. The state of preservation is somewhat good, except for fungal foxing spread on the left margin and some stains, of which one is more visible on the higher left of the image. The higher, lower, and left margins are fringed and present tiny tears.
