Must We All Write About It?" by William Grimes, published in The New York Times, March 25, 2005, published image slightly edited. Before her professional training at the School of Visual Arts, Joan Chiverton grew up drawing New York City's people and cultural scene. She was an award-winning art director for various advertising agencies before she began illustrating for publications such as The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. Chiverton continues to produce drawings, paintings, and etchings in her studio in New York City.
