In this scene, people are working in a village. Interspersed throughout the scene are houses and flowers. The people carry buckets, children, and plants. The border is comprised of multiple layers of geometric patterns.
Amate paper is a type of bark paper which was commonly used during the Aztec empire. Its production was banned following Spanish colonization, although its creation and use still persisted. The use of Amate for painting and other art saw a revitalization during the mid-20th century, particularly among the Nahua and Otomi indigenous peoples.
Signed "Manuel Remigio S." in the lower right center.
