About the Item
French School picture circa 1790-1810, the landscape depicts a group of fishermen and appear to be preparing for the journey out to sea, there are fishing boats with nets suggesting it is painted from the habitable mainland, and might represent a fishing party from a man of war which is nestled in the bay out of sight . The picture is inscribed to the lower area in French which is somewhat indistinguishable, but a very interesting subject and still mysterious, hence the brief description for which I apologise. However I have included a image of the picture before the conservator applied his skills, the picture is in very good condition and framed ready for display.
