Born in London, Farey attended at prep school at St Aubyns, East Sussex. He trained as an architect at the Architectural Association, being awarded a travelling scholarship in 1909. He ran a successful architect’s practice, latterly with his associate Adams, but was – and is – far more famous for producing splendid drawings for the works of other architects, many of which were exhibited at the Royal Academy. Indeed, so many of his works were exhibited there that the RA architecture rooms became known as ‘Fareyland’. Lutyens, when entering the room, once exclaimed “What ho, the Farey Glen!”
Cyril Farey was popularly acclaimed as the greatest architectural draftsman of his age - and, indeed, of the twentieth century. He observed of his clients that, rather than the building, “It’s the trees and buses they pay for.” Well aware of his ability to turn the mundane into the spectacular, Farey noted that the architectural drawing should be absolutely accurate, with a more impressionistic style applied only to the trees, people, and landscape. A distinctive feature of many of his pictures is the reflections in the foreground, as though the scene has been drawn recent rain.

He observed of his clients that rather than the building “It’s the trees and buses they pay for.” Wanting a fine picture to hang afterward in the boardroom, or a picture that would render the dullest of architecture an improvement to its surroundings, a commissioning architect would call for Farey’s services. Aware of his ability to turn the mundane into the spectacular, he noted that the architecture should nonetheless be accurate with the impressionistic rendering applied only to the trees, people and landscape. Born in London, he was at prep school at St Aubyns, East Sussex. He trained as an architect at the Architectural Association, being awarded a traveling scholarship in 1909. An architectural drawing of St Nicholas House, a 1930s Art Deco building on the corner of St Nicholas Street and High Street in the heart of Bristol. It was originally built as a banking headquarters, and is recognisable for its curved facade. Today St Nicholas House is a co-working space owned by The Office Group; the interiors have been remodelled in an Art Deco-inspired style, in honour of the building's architectural origins.
Edmund J Thring was an architectural perspectivist who produced over 2,500 perspectives in his lifetime. He spent much of the Second WorId War in the Photographic Reconnaissance Interpretation Unit at RAF Nuneham Park, interpreting aerial photographs and making models.

The larger one, at No. 9, has been designated as a Landmark of New York by the Municipal Art Society, and a plaque on its facade bears the landmark designation. Nicholas Solovioff (1927–1994) was an American artist.
Solovioff was a prolific illustrator, having done covers for The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, Fortune, Sports Illustrated, Horizon, Reader's Digest and the Smithsonian Institution. He also illustrated articles in Fortune and illustrated some of the Time-Life books. He specialized in illustrating architecture, technology, science and nature. In addition to illustrations for magazines, he did technical illustration for government contracted technical manuals and architectural proposals for Philip Johnson and Skidmore, Owings and Merrill. He was the artist in residence for the Port of New York Authority. He was known for his work featuring the bar at Oscar's Delmonico also known as Delmonico's.
Solovioff was educated at Harvard University, where he began studying astronomy, physics and math, but he eventually switched to art history. After obtaining a BA, he got an MFA from Harvard and all but completed a Ph.D. as well. He taught art history, drawing, painting and sculpture at the Fogg Museum of Art while working towards a Ph.D. He also taught at the Parsons School of Design.
