Very detailed, romantic depiction of the Lago Maggiore between Switzerland and Italy with the ongoing daily hustle and bustle, the comings and goings on the lake and of course the majestic alpine scenery beyond. Lennard Lewis was born in London and worked as a water colourist and painter, who went on to exhibit at the Royal Academy, the Grosvenor Gallery and the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours; as well as at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists and submitted work to exhibitions in Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield and Leeds.
