About the Item
From London with Love is a drawing series by Shizico Yi, composed of en plein air studies that capture quiet, private moments between the artist and the city—drawn in beloved corners of London.
1-This set features two historic sculptures in key locations:
Winged Victory, standing atop a globe with Constancy and Courage beneath her, in front of Buckingham Palace, looking toward The Mall;
2-Anteros (popularly known as Eros) at Piccadilly Circus.
Shizico created these drawings while walking to exhibitions at the Royal Academy and around Green Park—pausing along the way to draw what moved her.
Shizico honed her drawing craft by studying the Old Masters in museums and galleries over the last 2 decades. Over time, London, its architecture, atmosphere, and quiet, everyday poetry landed in her drawings.
These drawings are, in essence, a love letter to London, a tribute to the places vs personal memories and shared moments with loved ones.
Each scene captures not only a view, but a memory—honoured and celebrated with ink and gold leaf on paper.
Material details:
Ink and gold leaf on Georgian oil paper (special artboard, extra thick at 0.2 depth). The unique surface texture though ideal for oil, has been highlighted with ink and gold leaf. Shizico used these materials to emphasise the tactile layered in drawing.

Dr. Shizico Yi is a London based artist, working on installations, films and paintings; the documentary nature of her work often concerns about the loss, repetition, the everyday subject and memories . With design and film background, Shizico combines her interests making installation projects which relate to artist's personal life in relation to the society and human condition at large.
Shizico Yi holds a PhD in Fine Art awarded by UEL, UK 2017; she had completed a Master in Fine Art with a BA in Womenswear from UAL. London. She is also the Winner of Women Film Makers: Best Shorts Competition 2013 Los Angels. USA.
