An art deco study of a woman, with her hair in the style of Josephine Baker, shown reclining on cushions in a lightly sketched interior and gazing candidly towards the viewer.
A New York painter and muralist, Jack Sparrow studied under Robert Henri, John Sloan and George Bellows at the Art Students League of New York. Sparrow exhibited widely and with success at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Architectural League of New York, the Brooklyn Museum, the Salons of America, the Salon d'Automne in Paris, and with the Society of Independent Artists. His murals can be found in the private collections of various mining companies such as Trebor Corporation (Mariposa, CA), H.C. Dudley (Ontario, Canada), in the city of Duluth, Minnesota and abroad in Mexico.
