Sediment #1, Drawing, Pencil/Colored Pencil on Paper

2016

About the Item

The delicate and intricate works in the Sediment series were inspired by the residue left behind when muddy water was emptied from a bathtub. Vein-like patterns seem to cascade towards the plug hole, forming another-worldly landscape from the tiny particles. JakBox has recreated and suspended these ephemeral patterns, using paper and a range of materials such as graphite and mud. Each piece produced is unique in tone, concentration and shape and, as a series, they inspire a range of both visual and physical associations. Some may appear as landscapes when viewed from afar, others, perhaps, more like microscopic images of cells. :: Drawing :: Abstract :: This piece comes with an official certificate of authenticity signed by the artist :: Ready to Hang: Yes :: Signed: Yes :: Signature Location: Bottom :: Paper :: Diagonal :: Original :: Framed: Yes :: Framed size 24.8"h x 24.8"w x 1.0"d

Balancing act 2 (Abstract Painting)
By Tracey Adams
Located in London, GB
Balancing act 2 (Abstract Painting) Gouache, graphite and ink on Rives paper. Unframed. Balancing Act 2 is part of a series of works on paper started in 2016. They are created in the evenings and aptly named after busy days of teaching and other responsibilities. The artist establishes parameters involving the use of a particular palette, certain mark-making gestures and amount of time spent on each drawing. This work incorporates graphite, ink, and gouache, and is a combination of intuition-based and planned execution. Tracey Adams is an American abstract painter and printmaker. Her artworks reflect a strong interest in musical patterns, rhythms, lyrical compositional elements and what she calls a sense of performance. She lives and works in Carmel, California. Work by Adams is part of the permanent collections of several museums, including the Bakersfield Art Museum, the Monterey Museum of Art, the Fresno Art Museum, the Tucson Art...
