Signed lower right, 'Maria Winkler' (American, born 1946) and dated 1991.
Professor Emeritus of the Art Department at California State University, Sacramento, Maria Winkler earned her MFA in painting and drawing, and her PhD in art education, at the University of Pennsylvania. Over the course of a long career, she has been the recipient of numerous prizes, medals and juried awards. She has exhibited internationally with success and is listed in Who’s Who in American Art. Maria Winkler's works are held in the collections of national and regional museums including the permanent collections of the Boise Art Museum and the California League of Women Artists, among others.
