Located in Hudson, NY
Contemporary pigment print 36 x 45.5 inches unframed Japanese Kozo paper infused with encaustic on 4 panels, each panel is 36 inches x 11 inches edition of 12 Jeri Eisenberg's photographs, which capture nature's beautiful moments, are printed on panels of thin Japanese Kozo paper. The paper's translucent quality compliments the image with delicate sophistication. A thin layer of encaustic is applied on top of the photograph panels, creating a matte, smooth surface. Here, four black and white panels combine to depict a sky-scape that could easily be mistaken for an abstract water color due to the style of this negative photograph...

Dream
Located in Atlanta, GA
"My work principally consists of deeply abstracted figure compositions--intuitive constructions that begin with random marks establishing larger masses of torsos, heads, and limbs in an undefined setting. The emphasis is almost purely on intuition. The figures are born of their surrounding environment, emerging only partially and fugitively from the layers of pigment. A narrative is evident but never overt. A crown, a shield, a boat, a wheel. Though the subject has recently coalesced around my reading of Dante and Shakespeare, the settings remain extremely vague- a beach, an interior, a woodland. The paintings are, in the end, meditations on the relationship between the protagonists in a wordless drama. In my paintings, I use a cold wax medium combined with dry pigments, oil paint, and embedded fragments of burlap. The surfaces eventually build up into a dense, rugged terrain." --Thaddeus Radell

Love in a cup (Stick Figure Art, Heart, Love, Playful, Warm, Heartfelt)
Located in Kansas City, MO
Wilhelm Schlote Love in a cup Giclee on hand made cotton paper Year: 2015 Signed by hand Size: 11.4 × 10.6 on 15.0 × 12.0 inches COA provided Ref.: 924802-899 ---------------------------------- Wilhelm Schlote (born March 4, 1946 in Lüdenscheid) is a German artist, children's book author, cartoonist and caricaturist. Schlote grew up in Essen. His first art teacher was Heinz Mack (member of the artist group ZERO), who recognized Wilhelm Schlote's talent for drawing early on. His mentor and friend Albert Schulze-Vellinghausen, who, as a literary critic for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ), was the predecessor of Marcel Reich-Ranicki, was just as philosophically influential. After graduating from high school, Schlote studied philosophy in Bonn until 1968 and then art at the Kunsthochschule Kassel until 1972. From 1973 to 1978 he was a teacher in higher education in Kassel and Hamburg. Simultaneously with the decision to go to Paris, Schlote was offered a professorship at a German art college. In 1978, however, Schlote decided to move to France, where he lived partly in Nice, but mainly in Paris. In 1980 he exhibited for the first time in the Medical Faculty of St. Germain des Pres in Paris. Since 2011 Wilhelm Schlote lives and works in Cologne, Germany. In 1968 Schlote published the first of a total of 35 children's books. Starting in 1976 he published cartoon postcards - the so-called "Schlote-Karten" - and in the same year received the German Youth Book Prize for “I wish for a hippopotamus today”. In 1991 he was awarded by the "Académie Calvet"; the award was presented to him by Catherine Deneuve and Claude Chabrol. Schlote's cartoons and drawings have appeared in magazines such as Die Zeit, Die Welt, The New Yorker, Le Monde and Le Figaro. He creates his city posters...

Gucci Ray - Sumi Ink on Mulberry Paper, Original Artwork, Gyotaku Style
Located in Chicago, IL
Designers have an wide reach through out the world but have yet to reach the depths of the ocean. Artist Jeff Conroy has created this Gyotaku print of large ray entitled simply "Gucci Ray" to fill that void. To achieve this remarkable painting, the artist applies sumi ink to a sting ray he caught himself on Florida's Gulf Coast, then "prints" it onto Marbled Mulberry paper - a soft, handmade paper. He then embellishes the details with watercolor to give extraordinary dimension and interest to its overall aesthetic. The artwork is unframed. Please contact the gallery for framing options. Jeff Conroy Gucci Ray sumi ink and watercolor on mulberry paper 37h x 25w in 93.98h x 63.50w cm JEC088 Gyotaku - A Japanese word translated from "gyo" meaning fish and "taku" meaning stone impression and is believed to get its inspiration from Chinese stone rubbings of calligraphy, which then gave rise to printing . This tradition dates back to the mid-1800s and was used by fishermen to record their catches, but has also become an art form of its own. Prints were made using Sumi ink and Washi paper. It is rumored that Samurai would settle fishing competitions using Gyotaku prints. This original form of Gyotaku is still utilized today, and can be seen hanging in fish and tackle shops all...
