'Anticipating Spring' signed artist's proof giclee print on watercolor paper
Located in Milwaukee, WI
'Anticipating Spring' is an artist's proof giclée print on watercolor paper after the original 2003 watercolor. Recalling the works of post-impressionist Henri Matisse, Barnett's vibrant watercolors depict a panoply of flowers that engage each of the viewer's senses. The subtle gradations in hue suggest textural changes on the flower petals, while the luminous white space between the flowers functions as an aromatic haze, lush and intoxicating. The tonal sensitivity that Barnett is able to elicit from watercolor perfectly complements the flowers' total engagement of the viewer's sensorium. Giclée print on watercolor paper after original 2003 watercolor AP II/XXV 25.625 x 41 inches, print 37.5 x 55.75 inches, frame Signed and dated in lower right "AP II/XXV" written in lower left Framed to conservation standards using archival materials including 100 percent rag matting, UF5 Plexiglas to inhibit fading, and housed in a gold finish wood moulding. David Barnett, an artist, collector, appraiser and gallerist has been passionate about art from the early age of five. David’s career as an art dealer began at age nineteen when, as a fine arts student, he sponsored an exhibition of work by fellow student artists. In 1966, he opened his first gallery in a converted basement apartment at Wisconsin Avenue and 21st Street. In 1985 David moved his gallery from Wisconsin Avenue into the Old Button Mansion on State Street and has been active ever since. David’s talents for recognizing undervalued artists and for meeting the needs of art lovers, art collectors and artists have created a vibrant, flourishing gallery and collection of over 6,000 works of art. David was born and raised in Wisconsin. He has been painting in watercolors, acrylics, oil pastels as well as fine art photography. David has more than 10 different series he has developed over the years. They include Abstract, Surrealism, Morph Dog, Up North Birch Bark, Impressions of Mexico City, Southwest, Fireworks, Famous Artist Paying Homage and Garden Panorama. Influential artists include Vermeer, Miro, Kandinsky, Chagall, Nolde and Klee. David has been featured in many magazines, newspapers and public television programs regarding his beautiful gallery, collection and knowledge and passion of fine art. David also has work in the permanent collection Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, Arizona. Since its opening in 1966, The David Barnett Gallery has flourished to become Wisconsin's premier gallery and has the most diverse range of art available in any Wisconsin gallery, including works of art that represent more than 600 artists. The gallery also offers custom framing, art appraisals...

'Mother's Day Bouquet' signed giclée print on watercolor paper floral still-life
Located in Milwaukee, WI
'Mother's Day Bouquet' is a giclée print on watercolor paper, signed by the artist in the lower right. Atop a checkered placemat rests a bouquet of flowers in a vase. Foregoing botanical realism, Barnett has opted instead to present a uniform floral profile, emphasizing how their colors work as an ensemble rather than foregrounding any distinct physiological differences. The composition’s flattened perspective also resembles the works of another painter of flowers—Henri Matisse—from whom Barnett draws inspiration. Giclée print on watercolor paper after original 2004 mixed media 7 x 5 in, print 13.25 x 10.75 in, frame Signed lower right Framed to conversation standards using archival materials including 100 percent rag matting, UF5 plexiglass to inhibit fading, and housed in a gold finish wood moulding. David Barnett, an artist, collector, appraiser and gallerist has been passionate about art from the early age of five. #414
Located in New Orleans, LA
Calvert’s current paintings investigate the relationship between digital media and the reception and perception of images, and utilizes diverse technologies such as fresco, 3D modeling, AI and data manipulation through code. She is especially interested in the evolution of pictorial space. Today we view our screens and the world they occupy as a shallowly layered space of overlapping desktop windows. The picture plane has tilted up again from the flatbed to float in front of our eyes. Calvert’s paintings in turn depict an intermediate space, where the verticality of the still life paintings cohabitate with these digital panes. Dutch floral still life paintings encapsulate multiple concerns. Their subjects were botanical fantasies, emblems of an economic mirage that has contemporary corollaries. Most important to Calvert’s pictorial concerns, they depict ephemeral things in shallow and diagrammatic space - they are all foreground. They contain an abundance of visual information in overwhelming density, creating an allover resolution; a visual field that is equivalent to digital noise. By making painterly interventions into reproductions, Calvert attempts to dissolve the layer between the resolution of the source image and abstraction of the painted mark. ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ Tiffany Calvert has exhibited her work in the US and abroad including Lawrimore Project in Seattle, E.TAY Gallery in New York, the Speed Museum in Louisville and Cadogan Contemporary in London. Residencies include the Djerassi Resident Artists Program, I-Park, and ArtOmi International Arts Center where she received a Geraldine R. Dodge Fellowship. Calvert has received grants from the Great Meadows Foundation and the Pollock-Krasner Foundation. Her work was recently profiled by critic John Yau in the online journal Hyperallergic. Her curatorial projects include “Some Abstraction Occurs” at 65GRAND Gallery in Chicago and “Magic” at Mercer College (featuring work by Chris Martin, Karla Knight, and Sarah Peters...
