Line 1222-01 and Line 1222-02 are abstract paintings by contemporary Korean artist Ahn Hyun-Ju.

This painting challenges the observer’s vision: the vivid color vertical lines interweave and superimpose in a downward directed movement. Many paradoxical impressions emerge from this pictorial oeuvre which changes depending on the viewer’s point of view.
Experimentation is at the very heart of Ahn Hyun Ju’s approach and is a part of every aspect of her work: supports, shapes, materials, color association… Her abstract paintings, influenced by 1960s and 1970s American minimalism, refute any metaphorical language and all narrative intentions. They are a part of a pure aesthetic quest.
