Andrea Stella (1950-2019).
The child of Greek immigrants raised in Italy, Andrea was destined to create.
His first concentration in the art world was antique woodworking, which lead to pursuits through various mediums, eventually landing on a very unique process with a gold leaf base on canvas.
Applying his woodworking skills, Andrea customized the frames to his unique canvases, blending two mediums into one.
Andrea was exhibited in many world-renowned museums, including the Palazzo Pitti, the Vatican Museum, and had the distinguished honor of being the first living artist to be displayed at the Uffizi.
Shortly before his untimely passing, an exhibition was held at the Palazzo Vecchio, concluding with an award given by the municipality of Florence for his contribution to the Italian art world.
Post mortem, his heirs executed a dream that was already in motion of an exhibition at the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg.
Certificate of authenticity and artist catalogue are included.

Lazzaro Donati was born in Florence and attended the Academy of Fine Arts. He began to paint in 1953, and in 1955 held his first exhibition at the Indiano Gallery in Florence. Within three years eleven exhibitions followed in Italy, and as his reputation grew he was invited to give major exhibitions in London, Paris, New York, Chicago, Rio de Janeiro and Montevideo. He is considered one of the foremost contemporary Italian painters and his paintings hang in museums and private collections throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia. His work is recalling the works of the french Raoul Dufy, Dunoyer de Segonzac, Francois Gall and Jean Jansem. This particular work is reminiscent of the work of Manolo Valdes. Donati lived and worked at 24 Piazza Donatello in Florence, the square where generations of artists have created works worthy of the great Florentine tradition. The present work of art titled "Urban Abstraction (ripped off posters)" is part of a series of paintings that the artist composed in the 1980s and 1990s inspired by the observation of the urban reality of those years.
The artist take the cue from his walks in Florence, both in the center and in the suburbs, and by the observation of billboards and posters scattered throughout the city.
The mass of information, colors, messages and words were carried on the canvas with acrylic colors, ideally reconstructing the tears and overlaps of all the information and advertising contained on these huge sheets of paper that invade our cities.
The geometric lines are overlaid with jagged lines, overlaps and color dripping and also the choice in the color palette, with different shades of white, gray, rose, orange red and blue helps in rendering the result of the tears and ripped paper.
The result is a beautiful multicolored modern abstract canvas, both aesthetically and ethically, with many rich layers of color, texture and expression in which the artist leaves his own message.
The painting is housed in a simple modern white lacquer wood frame.
