About the Item

This artwork is a unique fusion of painting and textile, transforming the fluidity of watercolor motifs into rich, tactile hand-tufted carpets. Remeikyte's thread paintings are created using the tufting technique, which combines smart weaving and embroidery. The prototype of the textile work is a drawing on paper, an expressive abstraction or figuration. It is enlarged and transferred onto a canvas marked with windows. Then, the artist energetically paints on it—not with a brush but with a tufting gun, not with paints but with brightly colored threads. Young artist Diana Remeikyte, who was born and works in Vilnius, Lithuania, is now better known abroad. Her large-format textile works have been exhibited in Rome, Madrid, Erfurt, and San Francisco. Her works have been acquired by the MO Museum, Vilnius, Lithuania. Diana’s work deeply explores themes of home and memory, making each piece a personal narrative. The woven inclusion of the year of creation and the artist’s initials underscores its authenticity and uniqueness. This vividly colored, unique piece features a wooden slat and metal rings for easy wall display, making it highly appealing to collectors of contemporary art and design.

Oil and Spray Paint on Canvas - Painting by Emerging Artist - House&God
Located in Vilnius, Vilniaus apskr.
Based on fragments of authentic photographs and notes, Maja creates a reconstruction of a past she never experienced. It is a young artist's visual interpretation of someone else's memory. She reflects on the reliability of images and a melancholic nostalgia — “a longing to return to a place I have never been.” The artist raises questions about the possibilities of conveying memory and the relationship between image and truth, constructing a visual interpretation of a time period she never knew through her paintings. ⬜️ The work is exhibited at Contour Art...

Cru si fiction Barbara d'Antuono 21st Century Contemporary outsider textile art
Located in Paris, FR
Embroidered textile painting Unique work Penelope or Parque of modern times, Barbara d’Antuono sews by hand like others recite mantras and decides nothing in advance. She lets images arise without any particular coherence with each other, but to which she gives substance in a kind of urgency, in the form of a strip not drawn but sewn. The exhibition, like the eponymous book, covers seven years of this assiduous and patient work through nearly 30 textile works, real freeze frames made of the emotions and memories of the artist, like so many portraits of humanity. . Her meeting in Haiti with Baron...
