2018
About the Item
Collectors searching for a statement contemporary mixed media artwork with crushed crystals, mirrored surfaces, black textures, and metallic sculptural elements will be captivated by "On The Rocks" by Ryan Shane Owen (18 x 60 in). This dramatic piece merges abstract expressionism with luxurious materiality, resulting in a commanding work of art that feels equally futuristic, glamorous, and raw. Combining high-impact tactile surfaces with mesmerizing geometric rhythm, this original artwork evokes a powerful sensory response, making it a showpiece for high-end interiors or contemporary art collections.
Ryan Shane Owen's abstract artworks are sculptural mixed-media works inspired by architecture, landscape, and geological formations. Owen's unique compositions are evocative of macro and microcosms. With a flavor of retro-futurism, they suggest a merging of nature and technology, blurring the line between positive and negative space. The metallic surfaces are influenced by movement, motion, dance, and music.
The three-dimensional surface of this 18 inch by 60 inch artwork is created with metal, metallic acrylic paint, and other media. The sides are painted black. It is signed on the back by the artist. It can be hung horizontally as well as vertically. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included.
Ryan Shane Owen is an artist and musician from Vancouver, BC. Heavily influenced by the dynamics and expression of musical composition, Ryan’s works capture movement in stillness and sound in silence. Early on, Ryan’s curiosity for nature led to an effervescent, artistic expression characterized by action, energy, and progression. His works are represented by Artspace Warehouse Los Angeles and have been exhibited and collected in the US and Canada.
Ryan is inspired by many aspects of the arts, including music and dance, architecture, calligraphy, textiles, fashion, op art, cubism, art deco, art nouveau, abstract expressionism, and impressionism. He has worked in various media, including illustration, silk screening, oil painting, sculpture, and video. For Ryan Shane Owen, the “harmonies of life” shape the foundation for creative interpretation through a fusion of sound and space.
Merging aspects of the sculptural with the pictorial, his artworks grew out of an experimentation with recycled building materials and a childhood propensity for puzzles. Constructed with metal, wood, cardboard, paper, glue, acrylic, oil, and enamel/spray paint, the pieces incorporate the artist's experience with a variety of techniques.

Abstract geometric artwork by a contemporary artist Gerald Wolfe.
Gerald Wolfe’s wall pieces have a three-dimensional, architectural feel. The artist’s approach to his paintings is intuitive. He meticulously creates his works step by step, imbuing shapes and lines with energy. The interplay of forms, color, and texture creates tension between flatness and depth. His work can become a unique gift and will be a wonderful addition to any space, be it a living room of a modern home or a lobby of a commercial building.
Gerald Wolfe received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from the University of Maryland in 1972, discovered his interest in art and went on to study fine arts at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. In the summer of 1974, he also studied at Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine. From his first show in 1979, a summer invitational at OK Harris Gallery, Gerald has shown his work on a consistent basis in New York, including such galleries as Denise Bibro Fine Art, NYC, and Kim Foster Gallery, NYC . In addition, he has had solo exhibits at the Paterson Museum in Paterson, New Jersey...
