This is a Fabrizio Clerici's Autograph Letter Signed, to the Countess and Patron of arts, Anna Laetitia Pecci-Blunt.
Rome, July 24th. Around 1957. Signed "Fabrizio". One page, single-sided. In Italian. On letterhead paper "Via della Lungarina 65". Excellent condition, perfectly readable thanks to an elegant calligraphy. Original envelope included.
A beautiful greeting letter, before the departure of the artist for Venice and before the countess leaving for a parisian summer. Written during a succesfull period of the artist, Fabrizio Clerici, that has just realized the first version of "Sonno Romano", considered by critics and by the artist himself among the most significant artworks of his production. Today Sonno Romano is preserved at the National Academy of San Luca, of which the artist has been president several times.
Fabrizio Clerici (Milan, 1913 - Rome, 1993)
The Italian painter, Fabrizio Clerici was a complex and eclectic artist and was also an architect, costume designer, scenographer and photographer. His works were exhibited in many museums in the United States, including the MoMA and the Guggenheim Museum, and in France, such as the Center Pompidou.His most renowned works are The Minotaur publicly accuses his mother, Sonno romano (1955); The Confessions of Palermo (1954); Minerva phlegraea (1956–57); Le Krak des Chevaliers (1968).
Countess Anna Laetitia Pecci (Rome, 1885 - Marlia, 1971)
Best-known as "Mimì" Pecci-Blunt , the Italian noblewoman was an art collector, patron and nephew of Pope Leo XIII. Extremely volcanic, she was very active in the cultural field, opening numerous lounges, galleries and theaters. In 1919 she married Cecil Blumenthal, later changed to Blunt, a wealthy Jewish banker from New York, heir to an important collection of nineteenth-century French painting. His Parisian and Roman salons was frequented by artists and intellectuals of the caliber of Salvador Dalì, Paul Valery, Poulenc, Paul Claudel, and Aldo Palazzeschi!

The ancient, original document of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany was framed, in recent times, by a skilled Florentine master craftsman who used a frame in precious wood and painted gold. The "Notification" was a public notice issued by the authority to bring to the attention of the population or of the institutions or persons concerned a legislative situation, an administrative act, or a declaration of intent by the authority itself. In 1838 (the year of our document) Italy, still divided into Kingdoms, States, Ducats, was pervaded by a certain form of reformism; the different dukes, princes, etc. flaunting modernism, various programs begin to develop the economy, make the administration efficient, change some laws, intervene in the territory with infrastructures, such as roads, canals, and railways. For this reason, more professionalism, experience, and technical preparation were required for all operators who had to contribute to this change.
