2000 Augury is an happy new year card with autograph notes by Luigi Ontani..
A folding card, on laid paper, including the original envelpe. Excellent condition: As good as new.
Realized by the Studio d'arte Raffaelli, Trento, on project of Lontani, in occasion of the advent of the new century.
On the front, a reproduction of a photographic portrait of a sleeping Luigi Ontani in the role of Dante, sorrounded by two cupids. Inside, a printed message concerning sacred love and profane love "Ontani, Rome, 1999"; and autograph notes with the typical Ontani stylized calligraphy.
Luigi Ontani (Grizzana Morandi, 1943) After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, the artist began his artistic career in the 70s, getting noticed for his "tableux vivants". His performances, in which Ontani is disguised in various ways, from Pinocchio to Dante, from San Sebastiano to Bacco, were filmed and photographed. The Italian painter and sculptor is an eclectic artist who expresses himself through manifold artistic forms and above all through photographic self-portrait.
